Our cause was helped considerably by half the Poly team being
delayed as a result of a flat tyre on the way.
I was pretty happy to accept the draw when offered and I'm
still don't wuite know how David J managed to draw.
Good win for Ralph on his debut, hopefully that's got him hungry for more!

David' draw was a very interesting game indeed. You should consider giving it to Ian for one of his coaching sessions David?
It could be useful for the kids to learn from the final position when the king is trapped but not mated in the corner. I liked the neat way that your opponent managed to win your queen or mate next move if refused.
It was a very interesting game to watch.
The end of Ralph' game was exciting stuff as well considering that if he had lost then the match would have been drawn. All in all a very interesting evening with lots of nail biting exciting chess.
Well done everyone! |
