Last nights home match against Crowwood was sadly lost.
W...Ian Marks 1919---------------1-0--Peter Thomson 1454
B...David Bonella 1622-----------0-1--Jack Peacock 1446
W...George Thomson 1397-----0.5-0.5--Jim McIntosh 1396
B...Robert Kelso 1298------------0-1--Andrew Pollock 1334
Cumbernauld------------------1.5-2.5--Crowwood "A"
It's probably my fault as I opted for a relatively early draw assuming that we should be alright on boards one and two. Sadly as you can see that never happened. So what I thought was to be a match winning draw turned out to be the match losing draw. Such is life!
I will try to remember not to accept a draw until it is ok to do so in future.

I'll believe it when I see it especially if the opponent is higher graded than you. Smile

Yes Ronnie I admit I am a little prone to DRAW this season.
However I have played thirty games this season and have only lost three which is one in ten. I think one loss from every ten games is a reasonable performance even if there are a few dodgy draws in there.

If your opponent is lower-rated, don't offer a draw. Play on and beat him Very Happy
If your opponent is higher-rated, don't offer a draw. He'll play on and beat you Sad
If you don't know your opponent's grade, play on and see what happens Exclamation

I tend to think that it was either David or myself who lost the match if it comes to that, that said I would love to be on George's record with only 3 losses out of ten rather than only three wins out of ten.

Never mind next time we won't make the same mistakes, yeah right.
