Hi folks
I am delighted to say that International Master Stephen Mannion, one of the country's leading players for over 20 years, will give a simultaneous display at the club on Monday 3rd September. This will be an excellent opportunity for members to pit their wits against one of the hardest players to beat in Scotland (believe me, I know!  ).
Please let me know via the board if you are interested in playing, so that we can get a guesstimate of the likely turnout. I would hope that as many team members, regulars and especially juniors will want to play. Participating in a simul against a strong player is something that stays in the memory and is also a great motivator in general. Also, since this is our first venture into this field, it would be nice to have a good response.
There will be a board fee, but we'll keep it as low as possible. Details sometime soon. |
