I attended the Lanarkshire League AGM last night at East Kilbride.
It would appear that they are going to revert back to a two league system.
I think that they are going to opt for a seven team first division. This will consist of Hamilton "A", Lanark "A", Bellshill "A", Cumbernauld "?", East kilbride "A", East Kilbride "B" and Crowwood. This will mean that each team shall play each other twice, home and away. Meaning that we still get 12 matches, however the standard of opposition should be improved.
The second division will be Lanark "B", Hamilton B,C and D. East Kilbride "C" and Bellshill "B".
Are Cumbernauld Chess Club interested in putting another team into the Lanarkshire second division in order to bring the amount of teams up to seven, the same as the first division???
Let me know what you all think of this idea. |
