The Glasgow Congress takes place from 6th-8th November, for the second year running at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. (Friday night in the Kelvin Hall Arena across the road.) Having taken part last year (and, I admit, being a tad doubtful about its suitability), I confess that I was impressed. It really is a sumptuous venue. It is not noisy! The background hubbub from the general public soon becomes unnoticable. The place is so big that it absorbs noise. It’s less distracting than two guys discussing their game in the corridor outside a ‘normal’ venue. And it’s not cold!

The point of this little monologue is to encourage you to take part. As always, there are tournaments for all levels. Also, the likelihood is that this will be the last year it will be held at Kelvingrove; it really is something you don’t want to miss.

Hi Robert,

I would be happy to take the A3 with me to put up. I could also make a few photocopies and place them around the town centre mainly the libraries and try and get the club some new members

Guys,

I passed on the item re poster publicity to George as club publicity officer. Maybe you want to liaise with him (or do it instead of him!?) on the matter? No need to duplicate efforts. OTOH, if either of you guys wants to produce the goods, that'll save George a job!

Good Luck to any Cumbernauld players who are playing in this event.
I may pop along and spectate on Saturday or Sunday.
