George,
Had a wee look at that KID line you were wondering about.
After 1 d4 Nf6 2 c4 g6 3 Nc3 Bg7 4 e4 d6 5 Nf3 0-0 6 Be2 e5 7 dxe5 dxe5 8 Qxd8 Rxd8 9 Nd5 Rd7!? (9...Nxd5 is easier on the blood pressure, e.g. 10 cxd5 c6 11 Bc4 b5 12 Bb3 Bb7 13 Bg5 Rc8!) 10 Nxe5 (looks winning!) Black has 10...Nxd5 11 Nxd7 and now Nb4! threatening ...Nc2+ more or less forces 12 Nxb8 (Black is fine after 12 Kd1 N or Bxd7) Nc2+ 13 Kd1 Nxa1 and Black is OK. After the likely continuation 14 Bf4 Bxb2 15 Bxc7 it's game on, e.g. 15...a5 (White was threatening Kc2 & Rb1) 16 Kc2 a4 and if 17 Rb1 a3! This threatens to retrieve the black N with ...Nb3! while its white counterpart is still stuck on b8.
Interesting line! All in all, Black looks fine. |
