Please note that this event is support the funding short fall
in the Central League so persuade as many people to play
as possible. Entry is not restricted to Central
League players.
Central Chess League Allegro Tournament
Sunday 17 September 2006
Community Education Unit, Abbots Road, Grangemouth
This will be a five-round Swiss tournament, with a time control of thirty minutes for each player in each game. All results will be submitted to Chess Scotland for grading on the allegro list.
Round times:
1 - 10:00 - 11:00
2 - 11:30 - 12:30
3 - 13:30 - 14:30
4 - 15:00 - 16:00
5 - 16:30 - 17:30
The tournament is open to all players (it is not restricted to members of clubs in the Central League). If there are sufficient entries, it will be split into two roughly equal sections on the basis of grade (including junior addition where appropriate).
Entry fee: £8.00 ( £6.00 for juniors under 18 years old on 1 January 2007)
(You can pay in cash on the day - no need to send cheques with entry forms.)
Prizes:
The prize fund will be dependent on the number of entries, but we estimate that with about 40 entrants playing in a single tournament we would be able to offer the following:
1st £80
2nd £50
3rd £30
plus at least two grading prizes
The greater the number of players, the greater the prize fund.
Tea and coffee will be available at the venue, and there is a cafeteria in the Sports Centre at the front of the building, selling burgers, chips, sandwiches, etc.
