Ian Marks has added a couple of excellent draws to his performance in I/O/M.
He drew with Alan Grant 2223 and Manuel Weeks 2200. He has another 2200 player in the next round.

Ian Marks has had another good draw in the I/O/M.
he has drawn with Michael Yeo 2153.
This means with one round to go he has a performance of 2226!
Pretty good considering he is graded at 1918

Like you I have been following Ian's progress over the last few days. I wonder how he rates his performance, although as you say a tournament rating of 2226 should be quite satisfying I would think.

I found a couple of pics of my opponent from a tournament in Bulgaria the week before the Monarch. I've asked Robert to put them on the board so that you may judge for yourself the accuracy or otherwise of George's description 
Besides being a 2205 WGM, Karolina speaks five languages, has a Masters and a Ph.D. and lectures in law at university in Moldova. ("I guess I'm a lawyer person.") |
